  1. On Tuesday my class and I were able to discuss how we are going to present our brochure to the class on Friday. We went over each panel and discussed who would start in the panel, and who would speak after each other. We tried to make sure that our presentation will have a good flow, and not just be messy when we speak in front of the class. We all feel comfortable about what each of us will say. I think the presentation will go well. We wanted to print out our brochure, but it needed up not working, but we all decided that it was okay and we will have in presented on the board anyway.

  2. My group finished our brochure in class on Tuesday, so this week, I will be working to prepare my speech. Each group member will present their panel and I have the panel about sustainability outside the university. I spent time working on how I wanted to present my information. I also worked on trying to figure out how to incorporate my interview with my information from my research. Then, I wrote out my points on a flash card so I can refer to it during the presentation. I also spent time this week working to get my speech time to around 1 and a half minutes. The goal for the group was for each person to talk for about a minute and a half. That way we would be like four and a half minutes and have some extra time to explain a little more.

  3. My group and I finished our project and all we need to do is practice. We finished the project while in class on Tuesday and figured out the order of how we are going to do the presentation. I am going to do the first panel and the marine science lab panel. Emily is going to do the second panel and the med-bio lab panels and Sam is going to do the panel on SASC and the last panel. We are figuring out what we are going to say on our own and timing ourselves and then texting the times to each other, as we currently can not find a time to meet up all together and practice together before friday. Overall I feel confident in our brochure and I am excited to go 2nd because it gets it done and over with so less stress!

Between class on Tuesday and class on Friday, I worked on changing up the theme of the brochure to make it more visually appealing. I also split up each panel of the brochure into a google slideshow to make it easier to present when the time comes on Friday. Since one of my group members was not in class on Tuesday, I emailed him to catch him up on what Anders and I completed in class and what we want him to get done before Friday when we present. Anders and I decided which panels we each are going to present. We are all doing the one slide we researched and then each of us is doing either the opening panel, closing statement, or final panel. We also talked about the last couple of things that need to be done before Friday, like putting quotes onto the brochure and adding the last image. Even though our group was off to a slow start, I think we accomplished a lot in the last couple of weeks, and our presentation is going to go fine. Hopefully everyone shows up to class on Friday prepared to present their work.

  5. Today (10/15), my group met up in the dining hall to work on finishing up the final touches of our brochure and go discuss our presentation for Friday. Since last class, we have worked a lot outside of class and have managed to get almost everything done. We were also able to get all of our necessary quotes. Kenzie interviewed someone from the dining hall staff, Lincoln got a quote from his professor, and I asked for a quote from my RA, who’s a senior here at UNE. At dinner, we spent a good hour talking about random things, which ended up being very fun. But afterward, we also made sure to talk about our brochure. We decided on a few final things that needed to be included before class on Friday, and we also split up which panels we each are going to present. Kenzie is presenting panels 1 and 2 on the introduction and waste reduction; Lincoln is presenting panels 3 and 4 on clean energy and transportation; and I am presenting the last two panels on how students can contribute to sustainability on campus and the conclusion slide. Overall, I feel really good about the place we are in now. Apart from a few final details and doing at least one practice run-through, I think we will be all set to present our brochure in class on Friday!

  6. we met in the dining hall to snack and work on the brochure. we managed to get all of our quotes and put them into the brochure we had made. we talked about a bunch of random things and managed to finish the brochure . talked about a few things that we might need to do before class on Friday.we broke up who was talking about what and are going to be doing a run through for a rough time at some point.

  7. On Tuesday we worked on polishing up each of our sections and really putting in more detailed descriptions of each of our interviews. We also added more photos to each of our panels, we really just finished off our work, added finishing touches and that was it.

  8. Since last class my group and I have finished our project. We got all our interviews done and typed them out, got all our information and images uploaded on to the brochure. We have also talked about who is going to read what on the brochure so that the presenting portion can go smoothly.

  9. My group and I met up briefly during this week to go over who would be presenting what topic and so on. We also, during class on Tuesday, attempted to print out brochures, but unfortunately couldn’t do so. The library printer does not print in color, and half of our last panel kept getting cut off. I am looking forward to presenting in Friday’s class, as I am proud of my group and the work we have done.

  10. In class on Tuesday we added the finishing touches to our brochure. We also attempted to print them, but unfortunately we ran into many problems. The printers are black and white only, they also cut off the brochure, and they were upside down on one side. So, we unfortunately weren’t able to do that. We also met up outside of class to quickly go over who is presenting what and when. I foresee our presentation going smoothly.

  11. My group and I decided to meet in the dining hall to discuss what we needed to get done for the brochure. Much of the meeting was eating and not brochure related, because we only had a few small things to fix, mostly personal preference details, so we completed those closer to the end. We also set up a time to meet to practice the presentation before the class.
