  1. My group and I have gotten SO MUCH done for the project. We have all of our quotes but 1, we have almost all of our pictures, and we are starting to put it all together. I am very excited to see how it comes out as the template we chose is adorable. I got to tour the marine science center labs and I got some amazing insights and pictures on research going on there. I think the only thing we need is Emily’s lab photos and then we can put the whole thing together. All of our information is in a google doc and we mostly just need to put it on the template.

    Group Work Progress
My group has made a lot of progress this week compared to last week. In class we split up the work evenly and decided who would accomplish what tasks. I worked on the brochure a lot this week, changing the color schemes and setting it up properly to make it make sense. I also spend a lot of time on the civic engagement portion of the UNE website researching the different opportunities and then I used that to infer how it is related to the wellbeing of the community. I also took two different pictures, one of a UNE logo and one of the signs on the tables in the dining hall that show different events throughout the weeks. On Thursday, Anders and I met in the commons and talked about what we both have gotten done since class on Tuesday. We both agreed that we are in good place and feel comfortable with the progress we have made considering the time that we have left. Branden was unable to make it because he had an interview with the director of student engagement, but we emailed him catching up on our progress and what we wanted him to get done before class. I feel like we will be able to finish up everything on Tuesday in class, and if not, we are able to meet Wednesday to do finishing touches.

  3. Journal #16
My group and I met again on Thursday, we met on the bottom floor of the library again. It was nice to see my group again. I added a quote that I got from the Director of Student Engagement, Bryan Adam. We also added a header, and made sure the picture matched the slide. We also added examples of civic engagement on campus, that we are apart of and what we have noticed around campus. We finished our brochure and I believe it looks amazing. My group and I are very proud of how the brochure turned out, and we are excited to present it.

  4. My group met today (Thursday Oct 9th), and we discussed our project further. We did additional research, including a deep-dive on engagement specific to UNE. We also discussed our final interview, and the quote we got from it. We’re very happy with our progress thus far. Next class we plan to delegate and discuss our presentation. We are also hoping to print out our brochures and fold them, so we can have a more hands-on presentation. We continued to discuss and agree on aesthetics, finding that we are happy with the look of our brochure. We’ve learned a lot about UNE, and the engagement on campus.

  5. My group and I met on Thursday night. We finished up two panels, and as of right now, we are done with our brochure. We are quite proud of how it turned out. We started to discuss how everything will be presented and what other editing we may need to do. I am happy that my group is so focused, and that our brochure looks pretty good.

  6. My group got a lot done during class this week. We have almost complete everything we are just adding final touches so its ready to be presented. Next time we meet we will have to discuss how we will present the information so everyone does equal talking.

  7. This week, outside of class, I worked independently on getting more information for my panel as well as getting pictures to use for our brochure.I decided to take a picture of the dining hall because I interviewed a dining hall staff member. I also worked finishing my description for my question. I did some additional research to reinforce my information. This information was helpful in order to better understand the ideals of sustainability at the University. I have gotten most of my information from official UNE sites. I also worked on making my assigned panel look good. I rearranged the template to make it look aesthetically pleasing. I put my quote in a bubble at the bottom of my panel and made my information tie into the quote.

  8. On Tuesday, Kenzie and I worked more on our brochure. Lincoln wasn’t able to make it to class on this day, but we all were still able to accomplish some important things. To start, we transferred a majority of our information from the rough draft layout to the final draft of the brochure. Along with this, we also took time to add in our pictures, create a colorful background, and include other fun extra details into our project. So far, we have collected almost all of our necessary pictures for the brochure; however, we have not yet had time to gather our quotes. Last week was very busy for all of us, so it’s been somewhat difficult to line up our schedules; however, this week, we are definitely planning to find a set time to meet up outside of class for gathering quotes and also for transferring over and formatting the rest of our brochure’s information. So overall, although we are not technically done yet, I think that by utilizing the work time given in class and also meeting outside of class to gather quotes and practice, we will soon be finished with our brochure and ready to present!

  9. My group and I made a lot of progress on Tuesday. We got all of our pictures and started setting up our brochure. Over last week we got all of our interviews done and now we just have to put everything together and we should be good!

  10. On Tuesday it was just abby and I. Lincoln couldn’t make it but we had made a good amount of progress and just needed to complete a little bit more of the brochure. We had made a plan to meet outside of class and continue to work on it. all we had left was just the quotes and just finishing touches.

  11. My group met over this time, because I could not make it to class. While I wasn’t working with them, I thought more about what this project needed for content, such as final pictures I could collect. Also, I was looking for any other ways I could show the aspects of sustainability at UNE we picked to put into the brochure.
